Have you ever thought about where the electricity in your house comes from? When we turn on a light, charge our phones, or play video games, that energy has to come from somewhere! But did you know that some types of energy can hurt our planet? That’s why clean energy is really important! This past January 26th, we celebrated Clean Energy Day! This is what we learned about different types of clean energy.
What is Clean Energy?
Clean energy comes from natural sources that don’t pollute the Earth. Instead of burning fossil fuels (which make dirty smoke and heat up the planet), clean energy uses things like:
Solar power – Energy from the sun ☀️
Wind power – Energy from the wind 🌬️
Hydropower – Energy from moving water 💦
Geothermal energy – Heat from deep inside the Earth 🌋
This energy is better because:
It doesn’t run out.
It keeps our air clean.
It helps fight climate change.
What Are We Doing at ISR?
In our school, we are working to save energy and spread the word about clean energy! Here’s what we’re doing:
💡 Energy-Saving Campaigns – We remind everyone to turn off lights, A/C, and computers when they’re not being used.
📢 Posters & Announcements – We make posters to teach about saving energy.
🌱 Learning About Renewable Energy – We watch videos, do experiments, and talk about ways to use clean energy in our daily lives.
How Can We Help at Home?
We all can make a difference!
Turn off lights and electronics when we don’t need them.
Walk, bike, or carpool instead of using cars too much.
Unplug chargers or anything that's not in use. Even when turned off, they still use some power.
Tell other families and friends about clean energy and why it matters!
The future is in our hands! Let’s power it with clean, green energy!
